So, how was your recent Wonderla trip?
Aah! forget it, I was stuck in the queue too for most of the time (chose not to take Fastrack passes on my 1st and probably the last visit).
So this time we decided to skip all the drama and off-roaded to a place with natural pools and water-slides away from the concrete jungle and cemented roadways.
This little piece of heaven aka Swimmer’s Paradise is located near Tirupati in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh.
The team of 12 left for Nagalapuram via a Tempo Traveller late night on . With a couple of wrong turns and navigation issue we reached Arai (a village near Nagalapurm). Took a 2 hour long breakfast break and reached the Trek start point by 1000 hrs.
Initial plan was to carry the camping gears and other stuff till 3rd Pool and camp nearby, we had to ditch the initial plan as it was way too hot and humid.
We took off with the Tubes and Life-jacket via Nagalapuram West Entry to the 2nd Pool through a muddy and rocky trail in middle of dense forest walking parallel to water stream.
Our awesome lunch was delivered to 2nd pool by the guide. Went back into the pool post lunch for round 2 masti. By 1600 hrs we started the journey back to the reservoir. It was almost dark by the time we reached. We decided to camp near the reservoir, which meant walking 2 km back to the TT and carry the stuff back to campsite. 4 of us volunteered for this, while others stayed back to clear the campsite and collect wood & rocks for the campfire.
Dinner was awesome, it was arranged by the guide, we had spicy chicken curry, sambar, curd and rice for dinner.
I woke up in middle of the night to remove the rain cover as it was very hot, wake up next hour again to fix it back as it started raining. I woke up by 0530 hrs, went out for a walk along with camera for get some sunrise shots.
Most of the group was tired from the previous day trek and activities and decided to rest instead of going back to the pool. Couple of us headed to 1st pool for another round of fun.
Thanks to the localite, we carried all the luggage by his bike to TT, saved us 2 km of walk with the luggage on a crazy hot day. We left Nagalapurm post breakfast and by 2100 hrs we were in Bangalore.
I will choose Nagalapuram over Wonderlaa on any given day, will surely plan another visit and this time not missing out on 3rd pool.
